Sunny Sunday Lunch in an Olive Grove

We gathered to celebrate our new nonprofit, A Sense of Home, this past Sunday, in an olive grove and vineyard. The love for the cause, the setting, the food, the company and the inspired foster youth, made the occasion one I shall never forget.  It was richly ambient, stirring, and delicious. One of those rare a perfect days. It was an example of all the layers of entertaining being equally fabulous and how essential it is that we create each element from an authentic place. 

Any Space Can Be Made Party Ready

A boring wooden raft comes alive with glass & rattan lanterns, throw pillows, fresh flowers, colorful vases, fabulous food & friends. This could be recreated on a back deck or a lawn or a living room floor. Any space can be made cosy, welcoming and inspired with the warmth of whimsical layers.

Pumpkin Patch Frolics

October is all about the pumpkin patch frolic. I am not sure which is better -- the patch or the post pumpkin frolic at home, in the kitchen, cooking up all that orange gloriousness. In this webisode I cook my fave ravioli, my fave soup and fave pie -- with 3 different kinds of pumpkin. I also carve up a pumpkin or two, make some spooky Halloween treats, welcome all kinds of  guests, and -- as usual -- boogy down in some unexpected places.
